Proline-rich peptides (PRPs), also known as colostrinin, are colostrum-derived proline-rich peptide mixtures that modulate immune response. Influencing the signal pathways of protein synthesis and cellular function, PRPs may also have an antioxidant effect including reducing markers of lipid peroxidation and preserving glutathione levels.

Growth Factors^*

Growth factors in colostrum extract, such as insulin-like growth factor-1 and 2 (IGF-1 and IGF-2), and transforming growth factor-beta 2 (TGF-β2), function to stimulate normal epithelial tissue growth in addition to upregulating B-cell growth and differentiation to increase antibody production by the body. They have also been shown to affect rates of protein synthesis, protein degradation and DNA synthesis.
